What is with Nicholas Spark's obsession with touching romanticly and the beach?

Nicholas Sparks. Girls like his books. Guys hate his movies. But I've noticed a trend in the way his movies have made it onto the big screen. Is it that girls just like to be intimately touched at the beach?

Okay even the newest of the movies yet to come out already shows features of wanting to sex it up at the beach:

Nick we do forget our first heartbreak. Please don't remind us of your dramatic 'laying our entire body on the beach for what could be a two hour film of boredom'.

(Note: Some may argue that The Notebook scene is from some random field in the rain where Rachel Whatsherface's nipples are shown just the tiniest bit. But if you look closely, there's a beach scene in the corner of the DVD. Nicholas just wanted you to believe they were in a field. He got you.)

Not pictured: A Walk To Remember. I forgot it.
